Known in Germany as ‘Tag der Arbeit’, this public holiday is also internationally associated with workers’ rights and labour movements. Celebrated in Germany with various events such as demonstrations, parades, and other festivities. Thankfully, the unfortunate Berlin tradition of laying the Kreuzberg quarter to rubble in street battles with the police has come to an end! Today is a day to advocate for workers’ rights and fair labour practices, or simply, to recover from the stress of your own work with an extra day off! 💪
